Gathered and Shared
While traveling throughout Queensland, Pell indulges in the infinite opportunity to seek, gather and collect. These items to her, a treasure, a memory, a trigger of what she has seen or experienced, lead to opportunity, to share experience, feelings and thoughts. Incorporating her passion for collecting within the work, with an imbued sense of time and culture.
The “Thimble Hold” brooch can be worn holding a treasure that someone may find significant to them. Once seen, it may engage the viewer with the owner in a conversation around their uniqueness, significance and making precious the simple everyday; a shared connectedness.
